Current Campaigns

Once I complete the order for my ad on the SpeakEasy website, is there anything else I need to do afterward to ensure that my order has been processed?

Once you submit your order, the rest is in our hands! You’ll receive a confirmation email and our team will begin processing your order right away. For digital ads, you’ll find a custom reporting dashboard in ‘My Account’ two business days after your ads have launched.

After I have submitted my digital ad, can I change the run dates?

If you need to change your flight dates, please open a support ticket with our customer support team and someone from our team will reach out within 1 business day.

Please note that shortening a digital campaign flight can cause pacing issues with delivering your impressions to your list, so we cannot guarantee to deliver your budget in full if the campaign is cut short. If we need to refund a portion of your budget, it will take 5-7 business days.

Once my ad runs, will SpeakEasy give me a report on the performance of the ad?

Within 2 business days of the launch of your campaign, you’ll find a customized reporting dashboard in ‘My Account.’ This dashboard is updated every 24 hours with the number of impressions served and clicks to your landing page. If you have any questions about this dashboard, please reach out to our customer support team.

Am I able to pause an active digital ad that is running?

Yes. Please reach out to our support team to pause your ad and a member of our team will confirm within one business day that your campaign has been successfully paused.

Can I cancel my order?

At SpeakEasy, we completely understand that things change and you may need to cancel your order. We want to work with you to make sure you can make changes to our media spend. However, the amount we are able to refund you will depend on the costs that we have already incurred (including credit card fees) if your order has begun printing or running on digital.

As such, we cannot guarantee a full refund on any order. Please note that refunds of any size take 5-7 business days to process.

How long will it take to see results for my digital ad campaign?

Within a day of your campaign launch, you should begin seeing increased traffic to your campaign. If you are using any sort of analytics tracking on your website, our campaign will appear as: 2020_SE.

What is your benchmark click-through rate (CTR)?

Across the political vertical, the benchmark CTR (click-through rate) is 0.08%. While clicks are an important metric of success, a strong banner ad can also create message awareness and name ID, even if someone doesn’t click on the ad. As a best practice, our campaigns are designed to optimize toward reach (showing the ad to as many people on your list as possible). We use CTR as a secondary metric.

What sites are my banner ads running on?

Your ads will appear on brand-safe safe sites wherever the voters are browsing. Most popular sites tend to be in the news, sport, and entertainment verticals. Banner ads will not run on social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter.

Additionally, SpeakEasy is very focused on the importance of brand/campaign safety for these ads. We use an advanced brand safety setting powered by Grapeshot (an Oracle-owned company focused on Contextual Intelligence) to exclude potentially offensive sites. Beyond this, we also implement additional block lists to ensure the ads are not appearing on hyper-conservative news sites.

Will my ads be seen on Republican sites?

No. Our service excludes these kinds of sites.

Do I get to pick the sites that my digital ads are running on?

Because we are targeting voters and not websites, you won’t be able to choose exactly where your ads will be seen. This strategy helps reach your target voters on thousands of campaign safe websites and mobile apps.

How do you make sure only my target list sees my ad online?

We onboard data through a process called ‘cookie-matching’ which takes offline fields such as name or address, anonymizes it, and matches it to a person-based ID that we can target online. This process takes about 5 business days from the time that we receive your data targets.

If my digital ad is running and I would like to adjust my spend, is there a way to do so before the end of the run date?

Yes! Please open a support ticket with one of our Customer Specialists about increasing your spend and someone will be in touch within 1 business day. Please be sure to include the name of your campaign and the desired increase. Our media team will make sure it is possible to add that amount and still deliver within the flight dates.

If I need to change my ad once it has already started running, how long would it take for these new changes to be implemented?

If you would like to change your order, you can open a support ticket with one of our Customer Specialists and someone from our team will be in touch shortly. The customer support line is open 8 AM – 6 PM PST on weekdays, with additional weekend coverage available during campaign season. Once you’ve opened the ticket, it will take 1-2 business days for the change to be completed.

Our team is able to accommodate one text or landing page change during your flight. Each subsequent change incurs an at-cost change fee of $75.

How many changes am I able to make during my flight?

Our team is able to accommodate one text or landing page change during your flight, and then each subsequent change incurs an at-cost change fee of $75.

Why is my Google Analytics showing an audience outside my state or in Kansas?

We often see Google Analytics traffic from other parts of the country or the world due to the inaccuracy of their geo-reporting. We’ve seen articles that pinpoint the Google Analytics geo-reporting at around 20-30% inaccurate. The “Kansas Problem” occurs when unregistered locations are attributed to the exact middle of the country, in Kansas. You also may see California impressions when we’re testing the ads before they go live.

We know this is a troubling issue for reporting. In order to double check, we implement additional geo-targeting parameters within our buying platform. For example, these impressions are targeted to people on the list, but only when they are within the state. This helps act as a final check on the list, since the geo-reports from Google Analytics are prone to inaccuracy.
